Biography

Millie is a PhD student studying Philosophy of Religion and pursuing a certificate from the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society. She writes about questions concerning the relationship between language and (religious) experience, with a focus on the ethical implications of apophasis, silence, and negativity. Her work is situated broadly between the Jewish and Christian traditions, and engages continental philosophy, political theology, and poetry. She returns (unhappily) to Simone Weil, though has previously worked on more canonical Christian mystics, including Saint Teresa of Ávila and her reception by Jacques Lacan and Julia Kristeva, among others.
