Biography
Stephanie’s research centers around the relationship between Buddhist temples and museums in modern Japan and the emergence of what have been termed 'temple-museums' since the early 1900s. She is also interested in unveilings of hidden Buddhist images (kaichō) and temple airing events (hōmotsu kazeire, mushiboshi).
